Just ahead of his India visit, US President Donald Trump, well-known for his controversial statements, has raised eyebrows again by declaring that he is more popular than Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on social media platform Facebook.
“Great honor, I think? Mark Zuckerberg recently stated that Donald J. Trump is Number 1 on Facebook. Number 2 is Prime Minister Modi of India. Actually, I am going to India in two weeks. Looking forward to it!,” the US President tweeted on Saturday.
Well, this is not the first time that Trump has claimed to be more popular than Modi.
Earlier in January, during an interview with CNBC TV on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Trump had stated that he is number 1 and PM Modi is number 2 on Facebook.
Modi has invited the US President and his first lady Melania Trump to India this month. Trump and Melania will be visiting India on Februray 24 and 25.
His itinerary includes visits to New Delhi and Ahmedabad, where he will be addressing a joint public meeting along with Modi at the newly-built Motera stadium. This is going to be Trump’s first bilateral visit to India after the impeachment trial.
According to senior government officials, the two countries are going to team up for a mini trade deal.
