Mumbai: A recent viral video of Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh has left fans both confused and concerned after he made a cryptic remark, saying, “I have already left this world.”

In the video, from Diljit Dosanjh’s April 30, 2026 concert at Scotiabank Saddledome in Canada, part of his Aura World Tour, the singer is heard speaking in Punjabi as he shares deeply personal reflections on life and death.

“I have already left this world. I don’t have any fear of death. Last December, I was trying to get out of this body. But now I still have to do a few more things before I leave this body. There is nothing to be afraid of. This is not just a matter of Punjab; it is and will always be. I have already left this world; this is the truth. I am standing on this stage, and this is my God,” Diljit is heard saying.

He further added, “I have no fear of death, and I don’t have any animosity towards anyone. I love everyone. Love, respect, and forgiveness. I am trying to bring this into my life as much as I can. Those who are still with me, this is the name of Punjab. I am Punjab. What do you say?”

The clip, initially posted on Instagram by a user named @sunnynota, quickly went viral across social media platforms, including Reddit, sparking concern among fans.

One user wrote, “I had nooo idea that he was getting hate nonstop? I thought he was super liked. Why?”

Another shared, “Unfortunate how people troll this. Avicii, Chetser Bennington, Amy Winehouse, SSR – so many were lost when they were at the peak of their career. As someone who has battled severe depression while doing exceptionally well in my career, I can attest how hard it feels to get out of bed. I really hope Indians start taking mental health seriously instead of trolling and making it worse.”

On the work front, Diljit, who was last seen in ‘Border 2’, will next be seen in Imtiaz Ali’s ‘Main Vaapas Aaunga’.

The singer also recently made headlines for responding to protesters at another show.

Reports suggest that a group raised slogans against him, expressing displeasure over his appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and his absence from Punjab during the floods.

Reacting on stage, Diljit said, “jitne jhande dikhane dikhao”.

He added, “The channels I go to, I talk about Punjab. I didn’t talk about my songs. I didn’t promote anything. I went to that channel for the sake of Punjab. Jitne jhande dikhane, dikhao.”

This isn’t the first time Diljit has delivered a strong message during a live performance.

Back in 2024, at his Indore concert, he recited a poignant ghazal that read, “Agar khilaaf hain hone do, Jaan thodi hai. Ye sab dhua hai asmaan thodi hai. sabhi ka khoon hai shaamil yahan ki mitti mein/ kisi ke baap ka Hindustan thodi hai (If they oppose, let them, it’s not life at stake. This is just smoke, not the sky at stake. This land has seen sacrifices from everyone/ Hindustan is not anyone’s property).”

The lines were widely interpreted as a response to objections raised at the time by members of the Bajrang Dal.

“Diljit has made anti-national remarks several times during the farmers’ protest. He is also a supporter of Khalistan. We will not allow such a person to hold an event in the city of Maa Ahilya. We have submitted an application to the administration demanding the cancellation of the show. If the event still takes place, we will protest in our own way,” leader Avinash Kaushal was quoted as saying by The Indian Express.
