IB Quizzing People Who Met Rahul Gandhi On Bharat Jodo Yatra, Alleges Congress

New Delhi: The Congress on Sunday levelled a serious charge, apparently against the government.

Congress general secretary and Communications in-charge Jairam Ramesh claimed that “IB” has been interrogating people who interacted with Rahul Gandhi during the ongoing Bharat Jodo Yatra.

“The spooks have been asking all sorts of questions and also wanting copies of memoranda submitted to him. There’s nothing secretive about the yatra but clearly G2 are rattled,” the Congress leader added.

IB possibly refers to Information & Broadcasting ministry, while G2 could be Narendra Modi and Amit Shah.

The Bharat Jodo Yatra, which commenced in September at Kanyakumari, has completed 100 days and just completed its first leg in Delhi.

Congress’ Vaibhab Walia said on Sunday he filed a complaint at Sohana police station about some ‘unauthorised people’ entering one of the containers on December 23.

“Informally I gather they were state intelligence people,” Walia said.

Several eminent personalities from different walks of life have joined the Rahul-led Yatra, the latest being actor-turned-politician Kamal Haasan on Saturday.

The Congress has been accusing BJP of trying to stop the Yatra using ‘tactics’ like COVID pandemic.

Union Health minister Mansukh Mandaviya wrote to Rahul a few days ago urging him to consider stopping the Yatra due to fresh health concerns triggered by an explosion of fresh COVID cases in China.
