Mumbai: Even as model-turned-actor Milind Soman’s nude beach photo has raked-up a controversy, actress Pooja Bedi has come out in support of him.
Pooja took to her Twitter handle to call out all those who are slamming Milind for his nude beach photo.
Defending the actor, Pooja said that Milind’s nude photo is ‘aesthetic’ and there is ‘absolutely nothing obscene’ about it.
She further went on to say that if people consider nudity as a crime, then all the Naga Sadhus should be arrested for roaming around naked with ash smeared on their faces.
“Absolutely nothing obscene about @milindrunning aesthetic pic. The obscenity lies in the minds of a viewer imagining more! His crime is being good looking, famous & setting benchmarks! If nudity is a crime all naga babas should be arrested. Smearing ash can’t make it acceptable!,” tweeted Pooja.

In 1974, Pooja’s mother Protima Bedi had run naked on Juhu Beach for a newly-launched Cine Blitz magazine. The idea behind the photoshoot was to show freedom and liberation.
On his 55th birthday, Milind took to social media and shared a picture of him running nude on the beach with a caption, “Happy birthday to me! #55.”
As soon as the picture went viral, people started questioning the Goa administration for encouraging obscenity.
Following the controversy, Milind was booked by the Goa police under Section 294 (obscenity) of the Indian Penal Code, along with other relevant sections of the Information Technology Act.
