Tripathy complimented the achievements of the institute and directed it to work out the way forward for scaling up eco-system for research and specialization in the institute. He also advised that the plan should be drawn up with short-term, medium-term and long-term objectives and broad timelines.

Twenty-six reputed companies including Microsoft, McKinsey, Visa, Dell, Turtlement and Amazon visited the IIIT campus during 2019-20 for campus recruitment. The average salary package offered to passouts is Rs 4.85 lakhs per annum, while the maximum salary offer has been Rs 41 lakhs per year.

IIIT Registrar Prof. Ajit Kumar Das informed that a five-member team of students – comprising Dhairya Mehta, Sambit Mohapatra, Shraddha Padhihari, Bhabya Mohanty and Sneha Batabyal — from the institute was ranked first in Google Online Marketing Challenge. Several thousand teams from 100 countries participated in the Challenge.

IIIT Director Prof. Gopal Nayak informed that the institute adopted innovative modes of remote learning, online lecture, virtual laboratories, protected valuation system, Google classrooms, remote office and administration and remote campus selection for placements to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic.
