IIT-Bhubaneswar adds 90 more seats to B.Tech courses

Bhubaneswar: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bhubaneswar, has added 90 more seats to the existing 260 for B.Tech courses, informed director of the institution RV Rajakumar on Wednesday.
The seats in B.Tech courses were earlier increased from 180 to 260 in 2016, he added.
Stating that the number of seats for M.Tech courses has also been raised to 154, the director said there are plans to introduce two-year courses in M.Tech Environmental Engineering and M.Tech Water Resources Engineering.
The Union Human Resources Development Ministry has already sanctioned Rs 800 crore for infrastructure development at IIT’s permanent campus in Argul, on the outskirts of the city.
The state government has allocated 930 acres of land for the permanent campus. The public engineering institution was established by the Government of India in 2008.
