Mhow— The Mhow Cantonment Board (MCB) has issued a demolition notice to the legal occupant of the ancestral residence of Jawad Ahmed Siddiqui, founder of Al-Falah University, citing serious violations.
According to the MCB, the property — registered in the name of Siddiqui’s late father — features an unauthorised basement and four extra floors that exceed the building norms allowed under cantonment bylaws. The board has ordered the removal of these illegal structures within three days, warning that failure to comply will result in the building being razed at the occupant’s cost.
The unauthorised additions reportedly date back decades. Officials have noted that despite previous notices in the 1990s, no corrective action was taken.
The demolition order comes amid increased scrutiny of Siddiqui and the Al-Falah Group, especially in the wake of a car explosion near Delhi’s Red Fort. Local residents say the building, once referred to as “Maulana’s Building,” symbolises the Siddiqui family’s longstanding influence in Mhow, where Siddiqui’s father previously served as the town’s Shehr Qazi.
Authorities say they are now closely watching the developments, as this notice may be part of a larger probe into the Siddiqui family’s property holdings.
Classes resume at Al Falah Medical College
Meanwhile, classes resumed at Faridabad’s Al Falah Medical College on Thursday amid scrutiny the institution has faced since it emerged at the centre of the probe into the recovery of explosive material and the Delhi car blast.
Umar Un Nabi, a faculty member of the college, was behind the wheel of the car that exploded. The university has mentioned that the institution had no connection to the doctors arrested in connection with the blast “apart from them working in their official capacity”.
