IMD Issues Thunderstorm, Rain & Gusty Wind Warning For 15 Odisha Dists By 11PM

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of thunderstorm activity in 15 districts of Odisha by 11 pm on Thursday.

Orange warning of moderate thunderstorm/lightning with surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph and light to moderate rain has been sounded for Ganjam district, where people have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and move to safer places, accordingly.

It has also warned of minor damage to loose/unsecured structures, banana trees and standing crops in the district during this period.

Similarly, light to moderate thunderstorm/lightning with gusty wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph along with light to moderate rainmay affect some parts of Bhadrak, Khurda, Cuttack, Puri, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Sonepur, Angul, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Dhenkanal and Nayagarh in three hours.

People in these 14 districts have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and move to safer places protect themselves from lightning strikes.
