IMD Issues Yellow Warning For These Dists Of Odisha For Next 48 Hours

Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of India Meteorological Department has forecast rain accompanied by thunderstorm and lightning are likely in some districts of Odisha in next 48 hours.

A midday bulletin of the IMD stated that light rain or thundershower has occurred at one or two places in Jharsuguda district. It forecast that thunderstorm with lightning are very likely at one or two places in Sundargarh, Deogarh, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar,
Mayurbhanj, Balasore and Angul districts from Saturday afternoon to Sunday morning.

Similarly, thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places
in Bargarh, Nuapada, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Jajpur from Sunday morning to Monday. The IMD has issued yellow warning for these districts.

The bulletin further said there will be no major change in the maximum temperature (day temperature) in the state during next 4-5 days. But, several districts will receive light to moderate rainfall till March 25.

Meanwhile, the Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) has alerted the collectors of the districts which have been issued yellow warning.

The SRC has asked them to circulate the warning message among the people of their areas. Besides, the officers have been asked to remain alert and take necessary action in case of any eventuality.
