Bhubaneswar/Kolkata: Unlike Odisha, Durga Puja revellers are busy pandal hopping and celebrating the homecoming of the goddess.
While public darshan is banned in Odisha with Puja mandaps covered from all sides, organisers in Kolkata have been asked by the Calcutta High Court to ensure that pandals are kept open on all sides in West Bengal.
“The pandals look more like a stage this year. Earlier there used to be a lot of decorations inside big pandals. The festive atmosphere is somewhat missing now. It is more like a visual treat,” said Archana Mahapatra, a native of Odisha riding in Kolkata.
No one is allowed to enter the pandals due to the COVID restrictions, she added.
