New Delhi: The Republic Day parade in the national Capital on Monday was quite a feast for the eyes and the senses as proud Indians soaked in the spectacle, in person or on television.
For those who missed it, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to his social media handle to share a series of posts which offered glimpses from the 77th Republic Day celebration at Kartavya Path.
Modi praised India’s security forces, cultural diversity and growing partnership with the European Union.
“India is privileged to host European Council President António Costa and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen during our Republic Day celebrations,” the PM wrote.
“Their presence underscores the growing strength of the India-European Union partnership and our commitment to shared values,” he added.
Among his posts were visuals of military contingents, weapon systems and aerial formations that formed a major part of this year’s celebrations.
The Prime Minister described the celebrations as a reflection of the country’s preparedness, democratic strength and national unity.
“The Republic Day parade showcased India’s formidable security apparatus, reflecting the nation’s preparedness, technological capability and unwavering commitment to safeguarding its citizens,” he said.
“The Republic Day parade offered a glimpse into the strengthening capabilities of India’s security forces. Our forces are truly our pride!” the PM captioned one of his posts.
Modi also shared visuals of dazzling cultural performances and tableaux, and wrote: “A vivid display of India’s cultural mosaic unfolded at Kartavya Path earlier today. The Republic Day parade celebrated India’s cultural diversity, with vibrant performances and tableaux.”
He said the celebrations reflected national pride and democratic values.
“Kartavya Path witnessed a powerful display of national pride as the Republic Day celebrations took place today,” Modi said.
“The magnificent parade showcased the strength of our democracy, the richness of our heritage and the unity that binds our nation together,” he added.
