New Delhi: India has rejected accusations by Pakistan of it being involved in a suicide attack on a school bus in Balochistan that killed four children and injured at least 12 others on Wednesday morning.
“Attempt to hoodwink world is doomed to fail,” India has said in response to Pakistan’s claim.
“India rejects the baseless allegations made by Pakistan regarding Indian involvement with the incident in Khuzdar earlier today. India condoles the loss of lives in all such incidents. However, in order to divert attention from its reputation as the global epicenter of terrorism and to hide its own gross failings, it has become second nature for Pakistan to blame India for all its internal issues. This attempt to hoodwink the world is doomed to fail,” India’s Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said.
According to sources, the bus was on its way to the Army School in Khuzdar town in Balochistan when the attacker rammed his vehicle and detonated explosives.
Yasir Dashti, the deputy commissioner of Khuzdar, said four children, the bus driver and a security guard were killed and 12 more children were critically injured. He said the initial investigation indicated that it was a suicide bombing.
Three of the children killed were identified as 12-year-old Hifsa Kausar, 16-year-old Esha Saleem and 12-year-old Sania Somroo. Officials said the fourth child killed was still being identified.
While no organisation has claimed responsibility for the attack, Pakistan’s Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) issued a statement claiming that India had planned and orchestrated the attack.
Pakistan is clearly doing this to show India in poor light before the international community after Operation Sindoor. India launched this operation against terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Jammu and Kashmir after the Pahalgam terror strike in Jammu and Kashmir on April 22 that left 26 persons, mostly tourists from across the country, dead.
India launched the operation after verifying that the Pahalgam attack was masterminded in Pakistan and orchestrated by terrorists from that country with local help.
