New Delhi: There has been no attack on the Delhi airport, as is being claimed by Pakistan. The PIB Fact Check team has gone through a video of an explosion shared over social media and clarified: “This is an old video being falsely shared as footage of a missile strike on New Delhi Airport. This video shows a gas station explosion in Aden, Yemen, in August 2024.”
The Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) has also debunked the false claim spread through an ‘X’ handle from Pakistan. “We’ve received many such messages wherein it is mentioned that Pakistan successfully targeted Delhi Airport with Fateh-2 missile and there are many casualties …… We express our strong disapproval on such irresponsible and provocative content. It is advisable to refrain from spreading false information. Passengers and public are advised to rely only on verified official sources for accurate updates,” the DIAL spokesperson said.
PIB has similarly called out posts regarding the destruction of an S-400 Triumf missile defence system, ejection of an Indian pilot over Pakistan-Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) and destruction of the Bathinda airport in Punjab.
“Reports of destruction of or any damage to an S-400 system are baseless. No Indian pilot ejected over PoJK. Don’t fall for misinformation. Always verify before sharing. The Bathinda Airfield is also fully operational and there is no damage whatsoever,” the PIB has posted.
