Raipur: In the first known consumer court order in India concerning E20 fuel rollout, the Raipur District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission has reportedly given its verdict in favour of a vehicle owner. The vehicle owner had alleged that due to E20 petrol usage significant damage has been caused to his vehicle.
According to a report published in India Today, the owner said the vehicle had begun experiencing repeated engine problems. The complainant had claimed that the issues existed even after repeated repairs.
The vehicle manufacturer and dealer contested the claim. They had argued that the model was fully compatible with the fuel. They also claimed that the defects were attributable to factors such as routine wear and tear, maintenance issues and other causes.
However, the Consumer Commission didn’t buy their logic. The Commission had noted that the consumer had repeatedly approached authorised workshops for repairs.
