Mumbai: ‘Aashiqui’ actor Rahul Roy hit back at trolls after his viral reel with a content creator drew criticism online.
Responding to the backlash, the actor urged critics to offer him work instead of mocking him, as the video continues to spark reactions across social media.
“I do my work with honesty and modesty. I have some legal matters to pay for, and these are not from today — they are from before the brain stroke happened,” Rahul wrote on his social media handle.
“If you mock my simplicity or make fun of my struggles, it says less about me and more about you. If you are truly so concerned, then help me find some genuine and decent work so I can pay for these cases. At least I am earning through hard work, not by mocking others,” he continued.
Mentioning that he wants to keep himself occupied with work after the brain stroke, Rahul added, “And after the brain stroke, it is important for me to stay active. I want to work for as long as I am alive. It keeps my mind active and gives me a sense of purpose and responsibility that I am still working today. Yes, it may hurt a little sometimes, but you cannot break me.”

Earlier this week, Rahul caught the internet’s attention after several reels featuring him with a content creator, by the social media handle DrVanitaGhadageDesai, went viral.
In one of the clips, the actor is seen dancing to ‘Tere Dar Pe Sanam’, a track from the 1993 film ‘Phir Teri Kahani Yaad Aayi’, in which he starred alongside Pooja Bhatt.
The reel drew a wave of reactions, with many users sharing humorous comments.
One user wrote, “He has been drugged for this reel. Jaise Thailand viagra me tigers ko karte hai photos k liye.”
Another quipped, “I thought she’s taking his measurements for an outfit.”
One person said, “Pls tell me this is AI, pls.”
For the unversed, Rahul suffered a brain stroke in 2020 while shooting for ‘LAC: Live the Battle in Kargil’.
He was rushed to Wockhardt Hospital, where doctors performed a brain angiography.
He was later moved to the ICU at Nanavati Hospital on November 27, 2020. Over time, the actor has made a steady recovery.
