Mumbai: After directing Shah Rukh Khan in ‘Jawan’ and Varun Dhawan in ‘Baby John’, there were reports that director Atlee might teaming up with Salman Khan for his next project.
Sources close to the production had even disclosed that the much-hyped project, tentatively titled as ‘A6’, was being made on a budget of Rs 500 crore.
Amid the buzz around the highly-anticipated film, a recent report in Masala.com, however, claimed that the project has been shelved. Atlee is currently working on a project featuring the ‘Pushpa’ star Allu Arjun, and the Salman Khan starrer has been put on the back burner, revealed the sources.
Earlier, during a promotional event, hinting at his upcoming project with Salman Khan, the director told PinkVilla, “Definitely, I am going to surprise everyone with the casting… It’s going to be the proudest film of our country.”
The movie, touted to be a “mega reincarnation drama”, spanning across different lifetimes, was expected to be a complete package including action, drama and romance.
“A6 is a period drama with reincarnation elements and Atlee is planning to make a never-seen-before world with the film,” a source close to the production had told Bollywood Hungama.
“Salman is also excited to explore something fresh with Atlee and is all charged up to lose the weight too as A6 requires him to have a certain kind of physique,” the source added.
