Mumbai: Shubman Gill is undoubtedly one of the most eligible bachelors in India.
The handsome and talented Team India batter has been linked with several celebrities like Sachin Tendulkar’s daughter Sara, actresses Sara Ali Khan and Ridhima Pandit.
The 25-year-old, touted to be India’s all-format captain in the near future, was recently asked by TV commentator Danny Morrison whether he planned to get married soon.
Gill smiled and said ‘no’, without letting anything out of the bag.
He has now set the record straight, saying that he has been single for three years.
Denying all the ‘ridiculous’ link-up rumours, the Gujarat Titans captain said he is not bothered by the constant gossip about him as he knows where he stands.
“I mean, I’ve been single for over three years, and so many speculations and rumours link me with different people. And sometimes, it’s so ridiculous that I would have never even seen or met that person ever in my life. And I would be hearing rumours that why I’m with this person and this person where else I’d be like,” Gill told the Hollywood Reporter India.
Gill, who has played 32 Tests, 55 ODIs and 21 T20Is for India so far, spelt out the reason why he wasn’t keen on a relationship right now.
“I know I’m so focused on what I need to do in my professional career. There is no space in my life to be with someone like 300 days a year. We are on the road travelling somewhere. So there is hardly any time to be able to be with someone or invest, you know, the time to be with someone in a relationship,” was Gill’s honest analysis.
That won’t be music to the ears of several young female admirers who are dreaming to be Gill’s girlfriend.
