Kendujhar: A Jana Seva Kendra owner was killed after unidentified assailants shot him and then attacked the victim with sharp weapons in Kendujhar district on Monday night.
The incident reportedly took place at Kendeipashi in the Turumunga police station area.
According to preliminary information, the attackers fired three rounds at the victim before attacking him with sharp weapons.
The was rushed to a medical facility in critical condition. He, however, succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.
Police suspect the murder is a fallout of a robbery attempt as some cash is reportedly missing from the Jana Seva Kendra, which provided banking-related services and regularly handled money.
Investigators are also looking into the possibility of previous enmity. The victim’s wife is reportedly a police employee.
