Jewellery Worth Rs 3 Lakh Looted From Another Locked House In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: In another case of house robbery, unidentified miscreants decamped with jewellery worth over Rs 3 lakh in Bhubaneswar on Sunday night.

As per reports, Sabitri Panda and her husband had gone to their relatives after locking up their rented house at Jagannath Nagar in the city on the day.

On their return on Monday, they found gold jewellery missing from the steel almirah and the window of the room broken. Sabitri lodged a complaint at Laxmisagar police station. She suspected that the burglars might have taken advantage of the locked house and entered it by breaking iron grill of the window.

The police have registered a case and started investigation. They have fetched the footage of the CCTV cameras in the locality.

It may be noted that the police had arrested 5 members of a robber gang including the mastermind belonging to West Bengal on December 29. Other looters are from Jagatsinghpur and Kendrapada. They were involved in several house burglary cases in Nayapally area.

On November 25, a gang of armed miscreants looted a house after tying up four family members in Maruti Vihar area under Nandakanan police limits in the city.

Earlier, the miscreants had looted three flats of an apartment at Patrapada on November 7. Similarly, 4 flats of an apartment under Infocity police limits were looted on October 16.
