Bargarh: A junior engineer was found dead inside a car under mysterious circumstances near Haladipali Chhak in Odisha’s Bargarh district on Friday.
The deceased has been identified as Chandrasekhar Jhadia, who was reportedly posted in Barpali block of the district.
As per sources, the vehicle parked along the road was spotted by passers-by, who informed the police after noticing smoke and a foul smell. The body was found burnt inside the vehicle.
A police team visited the site and launched a thorough investigation to ascertain the circumstances that led to the incident, as the cause of death remained unclear. The body was sent for postmortem, while a scientific team was called to examine the scene.
According to Jhadia’s wife, the junior engineer had left home around noon on Thursday but did not respond to phone calls throughout the evening and night. “I was shocked to see what had happened. I don’t know how it happened,” she said.
Barapali police seized the vehicle for investigation. While a scientific team has been engaged to determine the cause of the fire, police have not ruled out foul play at this stage.
