Bhubaneswar: A day after Odisha Vigilance apprehended Assistant Civil Supplies Officer in Khurda, Bishnu Charan Parida, while accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000, cash worth 7.4 lakh was recovered from his house on Friday.
The anti-corruption department conducted a house search at his government residential quarter in Bhoinagar of Bhubaneswar.
According to official sources, the house search continued till early this morning during which cash Rs 7.40 lakh and 250-gram gold were seized. Other documents relating to financial transactions have also been recovered and are under verification. A case has been registered under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act 2018.
It is pertinent to mention here that Parida had demanded Rs 50,000 bribe from a rice miller to facilitate his business and operation.
