Bhubaneswar: KIIT-DU signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Army on Monday to facilitate opportunities of higher education for serving and retired Army personnel, and their wards in engineering and medical programmes.
Brigadier Thakur Mayank Sinha, Brigadier Welfare, Army Headquarters and Prof. Saranjit Singh, KIIT-DU Vice-Chancellor, signed the agreement.
As per the agreement, KIIT-DU will provide 50% concessions on tuition fees for all courses (except medical) and 10% in medical courses.
Additionally, 100% scholarship will be provided on tuition fees to wards of Indian Army personnel who attained Veergati irrespective of the schools, except Medical Science and Dental Science.
For admission into Medical and Dental science programmes, candidates must fulfil NEET criteria.
For admission into all other programmes, the officers/wards must fulfil KIIT Entrance Examination (KIITEE) criteria.
“The prime objective of this MoU is to ensure quality education and financial support for the wards of Indian Army personnel,” Prof. Saranjit said.
