Know How Kumjharia High School In Odisha’s Sundargarh Made It To State Award Nominations
Kuarmunda: The hard work of teachers and students at Kumjharia High School in Odisha’s Sundargarh district finally bore fruit with the institute being nominated for the Centre of Excellence award for 2018-19.
The School and Mass Education Department has announced special provisions, including a library, spoken English classes and a sports hub, for the school in the tribal-dominated district. A total of 101 schools have been picked for the award this year.
An elated headmaster of the high school, Sanjay Kumar said, “This is the result of continuous efforts by the teachers who have always been trying to make it one of the best schools in the country.”
He further said that the tribal students are being provided a good study atmosphere in the school, which will help them in pursuing higher studies in future.
The high school has won several awards in the last three years. Among others, the school bagged the award for best clean school at the national-level. The then, Human Resource and Development minister Prakash Javadekar had handed over the award to the institution.
Based in a tribal-dominated and backward district like Sundargarh, the school is famous for its beautiful garden that resembles a park. It has nearly 1,117 students studying from Class I to X.
