Know The New Faces In Cong’s List Of Candidates For Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The list of candidates announced by the Congress late on Monday night for the first phase of Lok Sabha and Assembly polls in Odisha has as many as 27 new faces.

Out of six names for the Lok Sabha seats are four new faces. They are Pradeep Kumar Debata-Bargarh (in place of Sanjay Bhoi), George Tirkey-Sundargarh (in place of former chief minister Hemananda Biswal), Manoj Kumar Acharya-Kandhamal (in place of Late Harihar Karan) and V. Chandrasekhar Naidu-Berhampur (in place of Chandrasekhar Sahu).

Mentioned below are the names of new candidates for the 23 Assembly seats:

1. Satya Bhusan Sahu-Padampur (in place of Dr Prakash Tripathy)
2. Nipan Das-Bargarh (in place of Sadhu Charan Nepak)
3. Rohit Joseph Tirkey-Biramitrapur (in place of Rajesh Kerketta)
4. C.S. Rajan-Rajgangpur (in place of Gregory Minz)
5. Binod Kumar Patra-Biramaharajpur-SC
6. Sivaji Majhi-Lanjigarh-ST
7. Digambar Duria-Dharmagarh (in place of Tushar Patjoshi)
8. Siman Mallick-Baliguda-ST (in place of Klesha Pradhan)
9. Kishore Chandra Kanhar-Phulbani-ST (in place of Jalandhar Kanhar)
10. Prasant Sahu-Kantamal (in place of Hari Narayan Pradhan)
11. Prasant Kumar Nayak-Daspalla-SC (in place of Smt Indumati Nayak)
12. Sanjay Kumar Tripathy-Bhanjanagar (in place of Binayak Tripathy)
13. Hari Charan Swain-Polasara (in place of Gokulananda Mallick)
14. Bijay Kumar Sahu-Kabisuryanagar (in place of Sitaram Panigrahi)
15. Manoj Kumar Jena-Aska (in place of Saroj Padhi)
16. Ramakrushna Panda-Hinjili
17. Dharmaraj Reddy-Gopalpur (in place of Bhagaban Gantayat)
18. Lingaraj Choudhury-Berhampur (in place of Bikram Kumar Panda who joined BJD)
19. Bismay Mahapatra-Digapahandi (in place of Saka Sujit Kumar)
20. Subash Chandra Rout-Chikiti (in place of Manoranjan Dyan Samantray)
21. Nilamadhab Hikaka-Bisam Cuttack-ST (in place of Dambarudhar Ulaka)
22. Krushna Chandra Kuldeep-Koraput-SC (in place of Krushna Chandra Sagaria who joined BSP)
23. Laxmipriya Nayak-Chitrakonda-ST (in place of Sunadhar Kakari)

However, no women candidates’ names figured in the first phase list for six Lok Sabha seats.
