New Delhi: Tahawwur Rana, the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack accused, who is being questioned by the National Investigation Agency (NIA), has been kept in a highly-secured cell, inside the NIA’s head office at CGO complex in New Delhi. He is being guarded by security personnel round the clock, PTI reported citing anonymous officials.
Rana is being treated “as any other arrested person with no special treatment,” an official told HT. In the custody, he has been provided with a copy of the Quran at his request. He is being observed while offering Namaz five times daily in his cell at the NIA headquarters. The officer, in a HT report, described Rana as a “religious man.”
Besides the Quran, Rana also asked for pen and paper. According to reports, he has been provided, with pen and paper but is under close observation. “Beyond that, he has not made any other demands,” the officer told HT.
