Bhubaneswar: With the Centre concertedly pushing home-grown microbogging app Koo amid its row with Twitter, celebrity singer from Odisha Sona Mohapatra also joined the fray on Thursday.
Sona took to her official Twitter handle to announce this. “Just joined #kooapp. The same handle @sonamohapatra & the link is here – https://kooapp.com/profile/sonamohapatra,” she tweeted.
“I follow many interesting people from around the globe on Twitter, domain experts I learn & get inspired from, see no reason to miss that & will continue here. Yet do strongly believe #India should have its own platforms,” the singer added.

When asked by a follower about her experience on the home-grown app, Sona replied, “Early in day to comment but it seems to have some interesting features including one that let’s you edit your Koo after posting it. The search feature to locate other people as well as the speed at which a Koo appears after you’ve posted it have some delays; need fixing.”
Earlier on Wednesday, after Twitter posted a blog to explain its stand on the blocking orders of certain handles by the government, the Union Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology’s first response was on Koo.
