The first teaser of ‘Ramayana’ was released on April 2, offering a glimpse of Ranbir as Lord Ram.
The teaser, which introduced the film’s grand vision and marked a key milestone in bringing the timeless epic to audiences worldwide, received mixed responses.
While many praised its scale and visuals, a section of viewers criticised the VFX and described the teaser as underwhelming.
Following the feedback, producer Namit Malhotra issued a statement, saying the team had taken note of the audience’s feedback.
“We’re listening closely, working diligently, and pouring every effort possible into honouring it with the reverence it holds. This is our Ramayana. It belongs to us all, and that shared emotion and massive responsibility to make every Indian proud, is what drives me forward every single day. What you’ve seen so far is just the beginning… we are all striving to bring our epic to life this Diwali on the biggest screens to celebrate our culture and our history,” he said.
Besides Ranbir as Lord Ram, the film features Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, Ravie Dubey as Lakshman, Kajal Aggarwal as Mandodari and Rakul Preet Singh as Surpanakha.
Arun Govil, Kunal Kapoor, Adinath Kothare, Sheeba Chaddha, and Indira Krishnan will also be seen playing important roles.
The film will be released in two parts. ‘Ramayana: Part I’ will hit theatres this Diwali, while the second instalment will be out on Diwali next year.
