Srinagar: A list of 16 dead and 10 injured in Tuesday’s terror attack at Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir has been released.
Among them are two foreign nationals – one from Nepal and the other from the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Among those dead is Vinay Narwal (26) from Haryana. Reports claim that he was a Lieutenant in the Indian Navy, posted at Kochi. It has been claimed that Narwal returned home to Haryana on leave to get married. He was apparently on his honeymoon to Kashmir.
The list of the dead also includes the name of a local. Syed Hussain Shah was apparently from Anantnag. He may have been working in the tourism sector as a guide.
The home states of five of those killed in the terror strike have not been mentioned. They are Bitan Adhikari, Sanjay Lakhan Lele, Manish Ranjan and Shailender Kalpiya. There is a possibility of some of the names being misspelt, as happens during such situations.
The tourist from Nepal has been identified as Sandip Nevpane while the one from the UAE is named Udhwani Pradip Kumar in the list.
One tourist from Odisha, Prashant Satpathy, died while another, Shashi Kumari, was injured in the attack.

Meanwhile, security agencies have claimed that the strike was the handwork of 5-6 Pakistani terrorists, who are suspected to have crossed over into India recently.
