‘Lost’ Pays Tribute To KK With His Last Song ‘Mon Re’
Mumbai: One of KK’s last songs was ‘Mon Re’, from the upcoming film ‘Lost’.
The makers of ‘Lost’ have paid the late singer a special tribute as the song opens with a dedication to KK and shows the popular singer recording the song, interspersed with scenes from the Yami Gautam-starrer.
The song opens with the note, “We miss you… KK.”
Composed by Shantanu Moitra and written by Swanand Kirkire, ‘Mon Re’ was recorded just before KK died on May 31, 2022. The award-winning singer suffered a fatal cardiac arrest after performing at a college festival in Kolkata.
Directed by Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury, ‘Lost’ casts Yami as a reporter who pursues the case of a missing theatre activist.
Seasoned veteran Pankaj Kapur, Rahul Khanna, Neil Bhoopalam, Pia Bajpiee and Tushar Pandey play key roles in the thriller.
‘Lost’ will premiere on Zee5 on February 16.
After the trailer was released earlier this month, Yami had written: “An ode to many journalists who go to great lengths in search of the truth while also walking that fine line which threads the very integrity of media & humanity.”
Composer Shantanu had shared a behind-the-scenes video of KK’s session with him and others.
“Sharing with all KK fans, moments of joy in the studio while working on LOST sound track . He loved to whistle,” Shantanu wrote.
