Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government effected a major reshuffle in the IPS cadre and assigned new job profiles to several senior police officers on Tuesday.
This is being linked to the Election Commission of India recent directive asking the state governments to transfer senior bureaucrats and police officers, who have spent three years or more in the present posting. On Saturday, the government had transferred and changed the portfolio of several IAS and OAS officers.

According to a notification issued by the Home Department, the police officers transferred are :-
- Sunil Roy (RR-1987), ADGP Director, Intelligence, has been posted as Special DG, Intelligence.
- Binyanand Jha (RR-1988), ADGP, Attached to Home Department, has been posted as ADGP & Director, Investigation, OHRC.
- Sidhartha Mahadu Narvane, (RR-1989) ADGP & Director, Investigation, has been posted as OHRC, ADGP, HRPC.
- Mahendra Pratap (RR-1990) ADGP, HRPC has been posted as ADGP-cum-IG of Prison & DCS, Odisha.
- Sanjeeb Panda (RR- 1994) Transport Commissioner, Odisha has been posted as ADG, Law & Order.
- Amitabh Thakur (RR–1998) IGP, Law & Order has been posted as IGP, SAP, Odisha.
- S.Shyni (RR-2001) DIGP, CID CB has been posted as IGP, BPSPA
- Himansu Kumar Lal (RR- 2003) DIG, SAP, Odisha has been posted as DIG, SWR, Koraput.
- Yatindra Koyal (RR – 2000) IGP, STF has been posted as IG, SR, Berhampur
- Ashis Kumar Singh, (RR- 2004) DIG, SR, Berhampur has been posted as DIG, Intelligence (I/c CM’s Security).
- Sarthak Sarangi (RR -2007) SP, Puri has been posted as SP, Rourkela.
- Umashankar Dash (RR-2008) SP, Rourkela has been posted as SP, Puri.
- Sarah Sharma, (RR-2010) SP, BPSPA has been posted as SP, Gajapati.
- Anupama James, (RR-2013) SP, Deogarh has been posted as SP, Dhenkanal.
- Rahul P.R. (RR – 2013) SP, Rayagada has been posted as SP, CID CB (STF).
- Vivekananda Sharma, RR-2014 SP, Nawarangpur-attached to SP Hdqrs., Cuttack has been posted as AIG of Police, Hdqrs., Cuttack.
- Padmini Sahoo (RR -2015) SDPO, Panposh has been posted as DCP, Hdqrs.
- Rahul Jain (RR -2015) SDPO, Barbil has been posted as SP, Deogarh.
