Mamita Meher Murder: Did Prime Accused Govind Sahu Influence Kegaon Police Not To Register Missing Case?

Bhubaneswar: Another instance of the clout wielded by the prime accused in school teacher Mamita Meher’s case, Govind Sahu in Kalahandi administration has come to light as it is alleged that the Kegaon police did not register the missing complaint filed by Maita’s family.

According to sources, when Mamita’s family went to file a missing case at Kegaon police station in Kalahandi district on October 8, Govind was already present there. On the instruction of Govind, the police did not file the complaint of Mamita’s family.

Rather, the police told the family that since Mamita belonged to Jharni village under Turekela police station in Balangir district, they should go there to filed the complaint. Ultimately, Mamita’s family members were able to filed the case at Sindekela police station in Balangir.

It may be noted that the police exhumed the chopped body of Mamita, which was buried in the under-construction stadium of Sunshine English Medium School at Mahaling in Kalahandi district. Govind, who has been arrested among five persons in connection with the case, has admitted to have murdered Mamita.
