Mamita Murder Case: Police Find More Evidence From House Of Govind’s Driver In Odisha’s Kalahandi

Bhawanipatna: The investigation into the murder case of schoolteacher Mamita Meher has led the police to more evidence from the house of Radheshyam Chandi, alias Radhe, the associate of prime accused Govind Sahu, in Kalahandi district.

Kegaon police in the district came across the evidence when Radhe’s wife Asha Chandi handed them over a bag containing 3 pairs of women’s garments, a mobile phone and charger and some medicines.

She said she found the bag under a bed in the house but claimed that her husband was innocent and was implicated in the case for no reason.

Radhe, the driver of Govind, was arrested by Balangir police and produced in Bangomunda SDJM court on Thursday.

Earlier, two others arrested in the case, Pushkar Bhoi and Munsi Gupteswar Tandi, had turned witnesses in the case.

It may be noted that 24-year-old Mamita, who was working as the teacher in the Sunshine English Medium School at Mahaling in Kalahandi district had gone missing on October 8 and her chopped body was found buried in the under-construction stadium of the school on October 19.

Govind, the president of the school’s management committee, has admitted to the police that he had strangled Mamita to death in a car.
