Bhubaneswar: Police have arrested a person for allegedly constructing a boundary wall without authorisation.
The accused has been identified as Sikhar Chandra Jena (65) of Jharpada area.
On March 23, Imteyaj Khan and his family saw Jena constructing a boundary wall on their plot at Unit-33 in Jharpada near Puri Bypass Road. When they objected, the accused took out a gun from his car and threatened them.
Following a complaint, Badagada police apprehended the accused near Mangaraj Point the same night. “A case has been registered under Sections 329(3)/296(b)/351(3)/111(2)(b) of the BNSS, along with Section 25(1)(a) of the Arms Act. After his medical examination, he was forwarded to court and remanded to judicial custody,” a police release said.
It further added that nine cases are pending against Jena for his alleged involvement in land-grabbing cases.
