Man & His Son Injured In Firing By Ex-Serviceman In Odisha’s Cuttack
Cuttack: Three persons including a man and his son were injured as an ex-serviceman allegedly fired at them in Odisha’s Cuttack district on Sunday.
According to sources, the former Indian Army personnel, Sadananda Das alias Lituna of Haridapshi village under Tigiria police station used to stay in his relative’s house in Jenapda village under Athgarh police limits. During his stay there, he reportedly developed relationship with a married woman of the village.
Following his retirement from the Army, Sadananda was staying in his newly constructed house at Marugotha. He made his affair with the woman public by releasing the pictures with her on the social media. The woman’s in-laws questioned both of them about the relationship and warned Sadananda to keep away from her.
Though the 40-year-old ex-serviceman remained silent for some time, he went to Jenapada on Sunday afternoon and wanted to meet the woman. On coming to know about it, her father-in-law, his son and brother confronted Sadananda and prevented him from entering the village.
Enraged over the opposition by them, Sadananda fired at them from his gun and fled. The three persons, who sustained bullet injuries on hands and belly, were rushed to a hospital at Athgarh and later, shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital at Cuttack. Their condition was stated to be stable.
Officials in Athgarh police station said nobody had filed any complaint regarding the firing incident.
