Bhopal: A shocking case of medical fraud has emerged from Damoh district in Madhya Pradesh, where a man allegedly posed as a renowned UK cardiologist and performed 15 heart surgeries—seven of which resulted in the patients’ deaths. The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has been urged to investigate the matter.

False Identity, Fatal Consequences

The imposter, claiming to be Dr. N John Kem from London’s St George’s University, carried out surgeries at a missionary-run hospital in January and February. However, a local resident, Deepak Tiwari, discovered that the man was actually Narendra Vikramaditya Yadav, a fraud with no medical credentials.

Tiwari alleged that the hospital allowed Yadav to perform operations despite his fake qualifications. Disturbingly, the hospital failed to report the deaths to the police or perform post-mortems. Grieving families were allegedly misled, charged exorbitant fees, and handed over bodies without proper documentation.

Stolen Identity Confirmed

In a further twist, the real Dr. John Kem confirmed via email that his identity was being misused. He stated he has no association with Yadav or the hospital in Damoh.

Call for Justice and Accountability

Tiwari has demanded strict legal action against Yadav and the hospital authorities, including charges of murder, a full-scale inquiry into all deaths, and the cancellation of the hospital’s registration.

Officials Begin Probe

Damoh District Collector Sudhir Kochar confirmed receiving the complaint and assured that an investigation is underway. The case has triggered widespread outrage, with calls for stricter checks on medical credentials and private hospital operations.
