Bargarh: In a major success, the District Voluntary Force (DVF) in Odisha’s Bargarh recovered a major Maoist dump from the Gandhamardhan Reserve Forest near Marjadapali village in the Durgeikhol area on Monday.
Acting on intelligence inputs, the DVF team launched an operation and seized a cache of incriminating items including explosive detonators, chargers, Maoist uniforms, clothes, tiffin boxes, umbrellas, water jars, and radio sets. The operation was part of the force’s ongoing efforts to curb Maoist activities in the region.
“Last year, two Maoist cadres surrendered here. Since then, we have been conducting regular operations and inquiries. On the nights of May 30 and 31, a targeted operation was launched in Marjadapali village, leading to the recovery of this major dump,” Bargarh Superintendent of Police Prahlad Sahai Meena told reporters.
He added that around 50 detonators and other materials were seized during the raid. “Our commitment to maintaining peace in this area remains strong as we continue to carry out regular operations,” he affirmed.
The seizure marks a crucial step forward in disrupting Maoist networks in the district.
