Maoists Call For Odisha Bandh Amid ‘Crackdown’
Balangir: The outlawed Maoist outfit has called for a bandh in Odisha on May 20 to protest the alleged police atrocities against its cadres.
With about 20 Red rebels being gunned down by security personnel in the last two years, they have appealed to people to make the bandh successful in the state through banners written in Hindi and Odia languages put up at Lathor village under Patnagarh sub-division in Balangir district, while urging them to protest the crackdown launched by ‘Hindutva’ and ‘fascist’ government against civilians.
Two posters were also found at Bazaar Pendal between Putkelchuan and Ghunsar under Khaprakhol block in the district this morning.
On being informed, police seized the Maoist posters and banners.
