Marginal Fall In New COVID Cases In Odisha, ‘Red Zone’ Khurda Turns Yellow
Bhubaneswar: Odisha saw a marginal fall in daily COVID caseload as 467 more people, including 66 in the age group of 0-18 years, tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.
The state had seen 521 cases on Thursday, 615 on Wednesday, 529 on Tuesday, 448 on Monday, and 652 on Sunday.
According to the I & PR department, 271 of the new infections are from quarantine and 196 local contacts. Khurda reported the highest of 221 cases (47.32%) followed by Cuttack at 67. Nil cases have been reported from four districts.

Besides, 52 are from the state pool.
With these cases being detected from 60,036 samples, the test positivity rate (TPR) stood at 0.77%. The TPR was 0.81% on Thursday, 0.98% on Wednesday, 0.94% on Tuesday, 0.70% on Monday, and 0.97% on Sunday.
While the affected tally has touched 1034276, Odisha now has 5,299 active cases. With 2418 active cases, Khurda has now slipped back to the yellow zone. The district was in the red zone on Wednesday with 2,535 active cases following a steady surge in new COVID cases in the last over a week.

Bhubaneswar alone accounts for 69 per cent or 3654 cases of the total active cases in the state.
