New Delhi: In a powerful blend of creativity and patriotism, Lieutenant Colonel Harsh Gupta and Havaldar Surinder Singh have etched their names into history—not just on the battlefield, but on the canvas of national symbolism. These two Indian Army personnel are the brilliant minds behind the logo of Operation Sindoor, the emblem that came to represent one of India’s most resolute military responses to cross-border terrorism.
Launched in the early hours of May 7, Operation Sindoor was a precision strike by the Indian Defence Forces targeting nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). This was in direct retaliation to the heinous Pahalgam terror attack, which tragically claimed 26 Indian lives. In a late-night press statement, the Ministry of Defence confirmed the operation, emphasizing that the strikes hit at the heart of terrorist infrastructure from where assaults on Indian soil were being orchestrated.
While the military might and tactical brilliance of the operation drew headlines, the visuals from the Army HQ Operations Room offered another layer of inspiration—a carefully crafted logo that embodied the spirit, sacrifice, and strength of India’s armed forces.
Designed by Lt Col Gupta and Hav Singh, the logo is more than just an image. It is a symbol of national pride, reflecting the unity, resolve, and courage of India’s armed forces. These two soldiers demonstrated that service to the nation transcends the battlefield—it includes preserving the spirit of the mission through visual identity and legacy.
Operation Sindoor now lives on not only through its strategic success but also through the emblem that defines it—crafted by soldiers, inspired by sacrifice, and carried in the heart of every Indian.
