Bhubaneswar: Prof Jagneshwar Dandapat was on Tuesday appointed in-charge Vice-Chancellor of Utkal University in Bhubaneswar.
“Chancellor, Utkal University, Bhubaneswar has been pleased to appoint Prof Jagneshwar Dandapat, Professor in Biotechnology, Utkal University, Bhubaneswar as the In-charge Vice-Chancellor of Utkal University for the time being with immediate effect till joining of a new Vice-Chancellor in the University or until further orders, whichever is earlier,” the official notification said.
In November 2024, the then Governor and Chancellor of state public universities Raghubar Das had extended the tenure of vice-chancellors of Utkal University (Sabita Acharya), Ramadevi Women’s University (Aparajita Chowdhury) and Gangadhar Meher University( N Nagaraju) by another six months as a stop-gap measure. Their tenure was due to end in the last week of that month.
Earlier, Prof Chandi Charan Rath was appointed as in-charge VC of Ramadevi Women’s University.
