Meet Vivek Kumar, PM Modi’s New Private Secretary

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will have a new Private Secretary (PS).

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), presided by Modi, has approved Vivek Kumar’s appointment at the Joint Secretary level.

A 2004 batch Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer, Vivek is currently director of the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).

Vivek will replace Sanjeev Kumar Singla as Modi’s PS as the latter will be taking over as India’s Ambassador to Israel.

Singla, a 1997 batch IFS officer, was appointed as PS to the Prime Minister in 2014. Having returned to India to work in PMO after a brief posting in Indian Embassy in Tel Aviv, Singla will be going back to Israel as the Ambassador.
