New Delhi: Metro Man E Sreedharan on Thursday announced that he was quitting politics.
“Though I am quitting active politics, it doesn’t mean that I am completely leaving politics,” Sreedharan was quoted as saying by Mathrubhumi.
“I am 90 years old. Entering politics at this age is still a dangerous game. I had a good hope when I first entered politics. Currently, there is no passion left for me in active politics,” he said.
He further said that he “was never a politician” as he is a bureaucrat.
Sreedharan was the BJP’s candidate from Palakkad constituency in the Kerala assembly election held earlier this year.
The eminent engineer had joined the BJP in Kerala ahead of the elections. At 88, he was one of the oldest candidates.
