87 Of 91 New Corona Patients In Odisha Are Returnees From These 4 States; Details Here

Bhubaneswar: Odisha reported 91 new corona positive cases in the last 24 hours, taking the affected tally to 828 on Sunday.

Among these, the highest 28 cases were detected in Bhadrak. Seventeen among them had recently returned from Surat, eight from West Bengal, two from Maharashtra and one from Hyderabad. All of them were in quarantine centres, the I & PR department said in a tweet.

In Balasore, 16 cases were detected in quarantine centres – two from Surat, three from West Bengal, 10 from Hyderabad and one from Maharashtra- and one was a local contact.

Another 14 new patients in Ganjam are Surat returnees and another, a local contact.

Cuttack saw 12 new cases and all in quarantine centres. While eight among them are Ahmedabad returnees, two are from Surat and one each from West Bengal and Andhra Pradesh.

Among the seven cases in Puri, three are West Bengal returnees, three migrants from Surat and a local contact.

One each from Surat, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal have tested corona positive in Keonjhar.

Two Surat returnees in quarantine centre were found to have contracted the infection in Khurda and another, a local contact.

The two persons, who tested positive for the virus in Balangir, are Surat returnees. The one patient in Sundargarh had recently returned from Andhra Pradesh. The maiden case in Sambalpur is a migrant from Ahmedabad. Another Surat returnee has tested positive in Kendrapada, the tweets added.

The Health Department sources had earlier informed that 87 of these cases have been detected in quarantine centres
