Miniature Artist Creates Ganesh Idol With 11 Types Of Crops In Berhampur

Berhampur: On the eve of Ganesh puja, a sculptor of miniature artefacts in the city has come up with an idol made of 11 different varieties of crops.

Artist Satya Narayan Maharana, who has set 25 international and national records for creating smallest artifacts in different mediums, has created the Ganesh idol with the crops to highlight agriculture which is the main occupation of majority population of the state.

The idol is 18 inches high and 14 inches wide. Satya has used arhar dal, mung dal, black gram, red lentil or masoor dal, tapioca pearls or sagu, mustard seed, cumin, horse gram, wheat and cloves to make the idol.

He has also made eight other Ganesh idols in wood measuring 4 inches to 9 inches in height.

Releasing his idols to the media, 36-year-old Satya appealed to the people to perform Ganesh puja in their houses and not venture outside on the day to prevent COVID from spreading further.
