Bhubaneswar: The School of Hotel Management, faculty of hospitality and tourism management of Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan Deemed to be University (SOA), in Bhubaneswar conducted a fortnight-long training programme on hotel operations for the students of Home Sciences department of the Sailabala Women’s Autonomous College at Cuttack.
The objective of the training program was to educate and train the students on various aspects of hotel operations covering all major areas such as Front Office, Housekeeping, Food and Beverages Service and Production to enable them to gain the required experience.
The training programme, which was held from November 1 to 14, was participated by 43 post-graduate students of Home Sciences department of the Sailabala College.
The comprehensive training, while honing the attitude, skill and knowledge of the students needed by the industry, sought to equip them with competence in areas like customer service, communication, problem solving and operational management.
The entire programme was managed by a team of faculty members having rich and varied experience in the hospitality and tourism management.
Prof Bibhuti Bhushan Pradhan, Pro-Vice Chancellor and Registrar of SOA attended the valedictory ceremony of the programme on Thursday. Prof Susanta Ranjan Chaini, Dean of SHM was also present.
