Sundargarh: A minor girl was allegedly kidnapped and gangraped in Bandega area under Talasara police station limits of Odisha’s Sundaragada district.
According to preliminary information, the incident took place late on Saturday night. The minor girl, a resident of Chhattisgarh, had come to stay at her uncle’s house in Bandega.
As per a complaint lodged with the police by the girl’s family, the girl was abducted from near the house by two men on a bike and taken to a nearby forest. The family has alleged that several men were involved in the crime.
After the girl returned home and informed her family her ordeal, they approached the police with the help of a social worker and lodged a complaint.
Based on the complaint, Talasara police registered a case and launched an investigation. Five persons have been detained in connection with the case so far. Senior police officers with a team visited the spot to examine the crime scene as part of the probe.
Police said the investigation is underway and efforts are on to trace the remaining accused
