‘Missing’ Bhubaneswar MP Resurfaces In City With Apt Rebuttal For Rivals

Bhubaneswar: ‘Missing’ Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi arrived in the city on Monday afternoon. She was away in New Delhi to attend the budget session of Parliament from January 29 to February 13.

On February 11, posters were found on some walls in Bhubaneswar declaring that the MP was missing. These questioned her silence on controversial draft heritage bylaws notification of National Monuments Authority (NMA), which undermined the state government’s effort to develop the Ekamra Khetra.

Speaking to mediapersons, Aparajita said that it was her duty as an MP to remain in Parliament when it was in session. “The second part of the session will be held from March 8 to April 8. I will be in New Delhi during that period. This time ensure that such posters are put up in every lane and bylane of the city,” she said.

She quipped that such stunts of her rivals have benefitted her. “Samajhadaar Ko Ishaara Kaaphee Hai,” she added before signing off.

Aparajita will be holding a press meet at 4 pm.
