Bhubaneswar: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Trident Group of Institutions, NASSCOM Foundation and CISCO to set up a ‘thingQbator’ at Trident Academy of Technology, Bhubaneswar.
The agreement was signed between chief executive officer of NASSCOM Foundation Shrikant Sinha and chief mentor of Trident Group of Institutions Dr. BB Panigrahi for setting up a ‘thingQbator’, which is one of the five Internet of Things-based incubator facilities being set up in India through the funding of CISCO Inc and implemented through the Nasscom Foundation.
“The objective behind setting up of the ‘thingQbators’ is to empower the creation of next generation entrepreneur ecosystem in the field of Internet of Things. Other higher academic institutions that have been chosen for establishments of ‘thingQbators’ are IIT-Benares, Amrita University Coimbatore, Indira Gandhi Women’s University New Delhi and Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management-Kerala (IIITM-K) Kerala”, informed chief executive officer of NASSCOM Foundation Shrikant Sinha.
The project will be first-of-its-kind in the country that aims at skill and entrepreneurship development of youths, Sinha said.
The MoU signing ceremony was held at an IoT conclave organized in the Trident campus where consultant of Niti Ayog, New Delhi B N Satpathy was the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Satpathy stressed on the out-of-the-box thinking and risk taking ability of Odisha’s technical students eventually to become job creators rather than job seekers.
Executive director of Trident Group of Institutions Dr. RN Satpathy was also present on the occasion.
