N-LRSI Index: Odisha Drops One Position To Rank Third In Land Records Digitisation
Bhubaneswar: Odisha is among the top three states in the Land Records and Services Index (N-LRS)-2021 published by the National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER).
While Madhya Pradesh emerged as the top performer for the second year in a row, Odisha dropped to third with West Bengal taking the second slot in the list, showing improvements in their efforts to digitise land records compared to the previous year.
The second edition of the index, which measures the performance of 32 states and UTs across four broad parameters, digitisation of textual and spatial records, computerisation of the registration process, and the quality of land records, was released on Thursday.
Among others, Odisha has topped in the accessibility indicator, which evaluates states and UTs on ease of access, comprehensiveness of the information available, design and user interface and the efficiency of the help and assistance functionalisties on their respective land records related web platform.
The NCAER, an economic policy think tank, prepares N-LRS with support from Omidyar Network India.
