Naba Das Murder: CB Recreates Crime Scene With Gopal Das; Son Immerses Ashes At Prayagraj

Bhubaneswar: The lone accused in Health Minister Naba Das’ murder case, Gopal Das, was taken to Brajarajnagar in Odisha’s Jharsuguda district for crime scene recreation on Tuesday.

Gopal was seen enacting the entire incident when he fired two rounds from his service revolver at the minister and one bullet pierced his chest as the latter alighted from the front passenger door of the vehicle to attend an official event on January 29.

He showed how he held the revolver tightly in both hands and shot at Naba Das. He also enacted his attempt to flee by scaring others with his revolver and how he was overpowered by two cops.

According to sources, the Crime Branch is taking help from Directorate of Forensic Science, Gandhinagar, for recreating the crime scene. The area is likely to be cordoned off during Justice JP Das’ visit. The retired judge is monitoring the probe.

Notably, the extended four-day remand of Gopal will end on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Naba’s son Bishal immersed his ashes in the Ganga at Prayagraj. He took a flight to the pilgrimage centre for Hindus from Jharsuguda airport about two days ago, the sources added.
